Filming for Friends A2 Media Chidrens Tv Opening

One of my friends had a dilemma for his media piece. He had written a script for the opening of a children’s TV series. But due to himself playing the main character he couldn’t film it all cause he was acting. So he came to me with a shot list, storyboard and overall Idea what he wanted shooting. This was very different for me as I am used to shooting what I wanted to shoot so was very different going into a shoot and being told by others what they wanted. So in effect I was only a camera man following the shot list outlined by the director which in this case was my friend. It made me learn how to be told what to do and also just add some creative little twists that I thought might build on the great shot ideas that he already had. He was very organised with what day and time we would be filming and also how long it would last for. Everybody that was in it had a copy of the shot list, story board and script so my time wasn’t being wasted having to go over shots where people didn’t know what they were doing or had forgotten lines.

Flickr outside work

https://www.flickr.com/photos/102924535@N05/

This is a link to my Flickr account where I post a lot of my recent photography work. its from photography that I've learnt a lot of techniques  such as composition, lighting and camera controls and understanding if I changed a setting what effect it would have on the final shot and how it will effect the look, feel and how the media is represented.
This has helped me in my media work as I have tweaked what I have learned in photography outside of school to fit in with filming in school to get the best out of the cameras and exactly what look I wanted.

Trial camera shots- Car Light Trail Time lapse

I did a time lapse in the car at night so I would get loads of crazy light trails. I will be putting the time lapse at the end of the video as the outro. This is because of the rate of the music fits brilliantly with the change in photos. I'm very happy with how it turned out with the changes in lights. I also added a zoom out effect in post production just to add another element of visual interest.
I used a Nikon d7000 with a fisheye lens. I used this lens because of its immense field of view. It has a 8mm field of view and due to it being a fisheye it distorts the image as a result of its bulbous front element and the way it diffuses light.

Research and Planning-Story Board

Here are the copies of the story board which was the plan for my music video. This allowed me to get a clear list of shots I needed, ensuring I didn't miss any shots and also as an aid in directing the band.
