Ancillary Product - Insert for Digipak
Here are the digital copies of my insert of my cd cover. They are taken at multiple locations on multiple days using multiple camera lenses and settings.
the first was taken in a wood where the sun was setting. this means in the photo the orange sky is peeking through the gaps in the trees. it was also quite windy and all the trees were pretty thin. This means that due to the low light my camera has to be on a long exposure of around 10 seconds. I placed the camera on a log to ensure there was no camera shake. but due to the wind blowing the trees there is a cool motion effect as the trees move in the frame. the light is a torch that I waved around to make it look like a head torch where I was camping to make the audience feel as though they were there for a long time.
This photo was taken using a 300mm lens allowing me to single out the one tree on the hill creating a lot of empty space in the frame. this is an intertextual reference to the title bleak.
The next image was taken because when people feel hopeless they like to look at the sky and the stars to escape their problems. so I shot this shot at 35mm which is similar to the focal length of the eye. This gives the perception that the viewer is laying on their back in a wood looking through the trees at the stars. this was taken at a 30 second exposure to get the dim lights of the stars.
This final image is there to represent the band sat around a camp fire bonding and drinking which is very stereo typical for this genre of music.
