'Copyright Infringement' Role Play
I filmed and edited my class doing a role-play acting out what happens in court around a 'Copyright Infringement' case.
To film the role-play, I set up two cameras. I had one of the camera positioned stationary, it was set up to be pointing at the stand. I used a large aperture of f1.8 to create shallow depth of field to isolate the person in the stand. This gets rid of the clutter in the shot making the person stand out. The other camera I hand held walking around the room getting shots of the jury and the judge. for the sound I used it all from the stationary camera.
There are two reasons for this, first of all the microphone was better in that camera so the sound would be constantly good quality. The second reason is that if I flicked from one microphone to the other the direction of sound would constantly be changing distracting the audience from the meaning behind the video.
When it came to editing I had to do lip syncing as the footage from the mobile camera I wasn't using the sound so had to overlay the footage and ensuring that the sound fitted the video.
I had to flick between the two shots to ensure that the person talking was on the camera. this meant cutting the correct part out of the static clip and inserting the correct part from the moveable shot. this was to maintain continuity.
